Etiaxil

Etiaxil is a line of over-the-counter (OTC) consumer health products developed and marketed by Cooperation Pharmaceutique Francaise (Laboratoires Cooper) for the treatment of excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis. The core of the Etiaxil range consists of "detranspirant" formulations where the primary active ingredient is aluminum chloride. When applied topically, aluminum chloride reacts with water and proteins within the sweat duct to form a temporary gel-like plug. This plug physically obstructs the sweat gland, significantly reducing the flow of perspiration to the skin's surface for several days. In addition to its mechanical blocking action, the formulation provides antibacterial properties that help mitigate body odor. The Etiaxil brand encompasses various formats, including roll-ons, sprays, and aerosols, with specific versions designed for sensitive skin and different body areas such as the underarms, hands, and feet.
