Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Etizest-plus is a combination pharmaceutical product manufactured by Apgar Pharmaceuticals, primarily indicated for the treatment of comorbid depression and anxiety disorders. It consists of two active small molecule ingredients: etizolam and escitalopram. Etizolam is a thienodiazepine that acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor, providing rapid anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle relaxant effects. Escitalopram is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that increases synaptic serotonin levels by inhibiting the serotonin transporter (SERT), addressing underlying depressive symptoms and providing long-term management of mood disorders. This combination is designed to offer both immediate relief of acute anxiety symptoms and sustained therapeutic benefit for neuropsychiatric conditions.
