Overview

Etoposide + vincristine is a combination of two chemotherapeutic agents used together as part of multi-drug regimens for the treatment of various cancers, particularly hematologic malignancies. Etoposide is a topoisomerase II inhibitor that induces DNA strand breaks and prevents cell division, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. Vincristine is a vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule formation in mitosis, thereby arresting cell division at metaphase. This combination exploits different mechanisms to maximize cytotoxicity against cancer cells and reduce the likelihood of drug resistance. While these drugs are most commonly administered as components within larger regimens (such as OEPA or BEACOPP), they may also be combined directly in certain protocols for pediatric or adult oncology indications[2][7]. Both drugs are approved by regulatory agencies for use in cancer therapy.
