Overview

**Etoricoxib + cyclobenzaprine** is an oral fixed-dose combination developed by **Eurofarma** for short-term treatment of moderate-to-severe acute pain associated with muscle spasm. The prolonged-release hard capsule combines etoricoxib 90 mg, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor NSAID that reduces prostaglandin-mediated pain and inflammation, with cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride 15 mg, a centrally acting skeletal-muscle relaxant with serotonergic, adrenergic, and histaminergic receptor activity. A Phase 3 trial evaluated the combination after impacted third-molar extraction in Brazil, but the study was withdrawn and development appears discontinued.
