Overview

Etrapopa is a small molecule drug developed as a thrombopoietin receptor agonist (TPORA) for the treatment of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and severe aplastic anemia (SAA). It is formulated as an oral dry suspension, specifically the ethanolamine salt form. Etrapopa acts by stimulating the thrombopoietin receptor to promote platelet production in patients with chronic or persistent ITP and SAA. The drug has been submitted for registration in China and is under priority review for these indications. Clinical studies have shown that it improves platelet counts and cellular immune function in patients with refractory primary ITP when used alone or in combination with other agents[5][7][9].
