Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Eucillin B is a topical combination ointment containing bacitracin, dequalinium chloride, and diphenylpyraline hydrochloride. It is approved in Austria for the treatment of superficial skin infections and inflammations, including furuncles, carbuncles, folliculitis, impetigo contagiosa, infected eczema, and intertrigo. Bacitracin acts as a polypeptide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, dequalinium chloride serves as a broad-spectrum antiseptic that disrupts microbial cell membranes, and diphenylpyraline hydrochloride is a first-generation antihistamine that relieves localized itching.
