Eucommia capsule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) preparation primarily composed of the bark of *Eucommia ulmoides* Oliver. It is traditionally used to tonify the liver and kidneys, strengthen the sinews and bones, and alleviate pain in the lower back and knees. In clinical settings, it is often investigated for its efficacy in treating lumbar disc herniation, osteoporosis, and hypertension. The pharmacological effects are attributed to its bioactive constituents, including iridoids, lignans, and flavonoids, which exhibit anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and osteoprotective properties. In the context of lumbar disc herniation, it is frequently evaluated as part of a TCM regimen that may include manual manipulation therapies.
