Overview

EuHZV is a protein-based vaccine candidate designed for the prevention of shingles (herpes zoster), chickenpox (varicella-zoster infection), and herpes simplex infections. It consists of a vaccine antigen displayed on immunogenic nanoparticles, utilizing POP BIO's spontaneous nanoparticle display technology. The vaccine is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials in healthy adults aged 50 to 69 years. The primary goal is to induce immunity against varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which causes both chickenpox and shingles, by presenting viral antigens in a highly immunogenic format. EuHZV is being developed through a collaboration between POP BIO and EuBiologics.
