Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Euphytose is a multi-ingredient herbal medicinal product and dietary supplement traditionally used to reduce minor anxiety and sleep disorders in adults and children. Its formulation contains extracts of valerian (Valeriana officinalis), passionflower (Passiflora incarnata), hawthorn (Crataegus sp.), and ballota (Ballota nigra). Some formulations, such as Euphytose nuit, also include melatonin for sleep support. The mechanism of action is believed to involve interaction with central benzodiazepine receptors and alpha-2 adrenoceptors, contributing to its anxiolytic effects. Euphytose is non-addictive, suitable for short-term or longer use under guidance, and marketed primarily in Europe[2][3][4][5][7][8]. Developers: Bayer
