*Eurycoma longifolia*, commonly known as Tongkat Ali or Malaysian Ginseng, is a medicinal plant native to Southeast Asia that is widely utilized as a dietary supplement and traditional herbal medicine. Its primary therapeutic applications focus on male reproductive health, including the treatment of late-onset hypogonadism, male infertility, and sexual dysfunction, as well as the enhancement of physical performance and stress reduction. The bioactivity of the plant is largely attributed to quassinoids, most notably eurycomanone, which has been shown to modulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. The mechanism of action involves the stimulation of testosterone production in Leydig cells, the inhibition of aromatase (CYP19A1) to prevent the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, and the reduction of sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) levels to increase the bioavailability of free testosterone.
