Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Eutrema japonicum whole, commonly known as wasabi or Japanese horseradish, is a botanical extract derived from the Brassicaceae family. While primarily recognized as a culinary condiment, the whole plant extract is utilized in over-the-counter (OTC) topical products for its antifungal and antibacterial properties. It contains a variety of bioactive compounds, including glucosinolates (such as allyl isothiocyanate), phenolic acids, flavonoids, and organosulfur compounds. Research has explored its potential medicinal applications in anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-cancer contexts, although it is not currently approved as a prescription pharmaceutical for specific biological pathways.
