EV-077

EV-077 is an oral small molecule drug developed initially by Evolva and later outlicensed to Serodus. It acts as a dual thromboxane receptor antagonist and thromboxane synthase inhibitor. Specifically, it antagonizes the thromboxane A1 receptor (TBXA1R) and thromboxane A2 receptor (TBXA2R), while also inhibiting thromboxane A2 synthase. This mechanism reduces the activity of prostanoids and isoprostanes that contribute to vascular inflammation and platelet aggregation—processes implicated in diabetic complications such as nephropathy and increased thrombosis risk. Clinical development has focused on diabetic nephropathy, albuminuria, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and related vascular complications[1][3][4][5][7].
