EV-hGPCs refers to extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from human glial progenitor cells (hGPCs). These EVs are being explored as a novel therapeutic modality within the field of regenerative medicine and cell therapy, leveraging the ability of glial progenitor cells to produce vesicles that may carry proteins, RNAs, and other molecules relevant to neural repair and immune modulation. The approach seeks to harness these vesicles for cell-free therapies with potential applications in neurological diseases and possibly other indications, building on the advances seen in the broader field of mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC)-derived EVs for their immunomodulatory and regenerative properties[4][6]. EV-hGPCs are distinct from cellular therapies in that they utilize the secreted vesicles rather than whole cells, aiming to overcome challenges of safety, scalability, and donor variability.
