Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EV029104 is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed by Evec for the treatment and prevention of *Clostridium difficile* infection (CDI). The antibody specifically targets and neutralizes *Clostridium difficile* toxin B (TcdB), one of the primary virulence factors responsible for the symptoms and pathology of CDI, including diarrhea and pseudomembranous colitis. By binding to TcdB, EV029104 prevents the toxin from entering host cells and causing cytotoxic effects. As of the latest reports, the drug is in the preclinical stage of development.
