Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The EV71-CA16 bivalent vaccine is an inactivated bivalent vaccine candidate developed by AIM Vaccine (specifically through its subsidiary AIM Kanghuai Biopharmaceutical) for the prevention of hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD). It is designed to simultaneously target the two most common pathogens responsible for HFMD: enterovirus 71 (EV71) and coxsackievirus A16 (CA16). Cultured in human diploid cells, the vaccine aims to provide broad protective immunity against both viral strains. It is currently in Phase I clinical development in China.
