Overview

Eva1 is a protein target that has recently been investigated as a novel antigen for chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy in cancer. In preclinical studies, humanized CAR-T cells engineered to recognize the Eva1 protein were able to effectively eliminate malignant tumors in laboratory mice with lung or pancreatic cancer. The approach involves modifying T cells with specific spacers and intracellular domains (such as 4-1BB or CD79A/CD40) to optimize immune activation against tumor cells expressing high levels of Eva1, while sparing normal white blood cells that express low levels of the protein. This suggests potential for effective and safer immunotherapy targeting cancers that express Eva1. The research is currently at the preclinical stage, focusing on safety validation before moving toward clinical trials[1].
