Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Evafem is a combined oral contraceptive available as coated tablets, containing clormadinone acetate and ethinyl estradiol. It is primarily used for the prevention of pregnancy. The drug works by leveraging the progestogenic and antiandrogenic effects of clormadinone acetate, combined with the estrogenic effects of ethinyl estradiol, to inhibit ovulation, alter cervical mucus, and modify the endometrial lining, thereby preventing conception. It may also be used in the management of certain dermatological conditions like moderate acne due to the anti-androgenic properties of clormadinone.
