Overview

Evatanepag is a small molecule drug that acts as a selective agonist of the prostaglandin E2 EP2 receptor (PTGER2). It was developed primarily for its ability to stimulate new bone formation on trabecular, endocortical, and periosteal surfaces. Preclinical studies demonstrated that local administration of evatanepag could induce bone formation and enhance fracture healing. The drug was investigated in clinical trials for the treatment of tibial fractures and osteoporosis but has not been approved for any indication. Pfizer was the primary developer of this compound[1][3][7][9].
