Overview

EVE-Treg refers to **ex vivo-expanded regulatory T cells** (Tregs) used as a cell therapy to suppress aberrant immune responses in conditions such as chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD). The approach involves isolating regulatory T cells from the patient or donor, expanding them outside the body (ex vivo), and then infusing them back into the patient to restore immune tolerance and control inflammation. EVE-Treg is being studied in clinical trials in combination with low-dose interleukin-2 (IL-2), which supports Treg survival and function. The primary indication is for patients with steroid-refractory cGVHD, though Treg therapies are broadly investigated for autoimmune diseases and organ transplantation[4][6].
