Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of everolimus, an oral mTOR inhibitor, and rituximab, a monoclonal antibody targeting CD20 on B-cells. This combination has been studied for the treatment of relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Everolimus inhibits mTOR signaling, blocking cell cycle progression and inducing growth arrest, while rituximab promotes B-cell lysis through complement-dependent cytotoxicity and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity.
