Overview

EVG321 is a novel radioligand agent developed for both diagnostic and therapeutic applications in small cell lung cancer (SCLC). It consists of a peptide that targets the cholecystokinin 2 receptor (CCK2R), which is highly expressed on SCLC cells. For diagnostics, it is labeled with Gallium-68 (^68Ga) to enable PET/CT imaging, allowing precise visualization and assessment of tumor burden. For therapy, it can be labeled with Lutetium-177 (^177Lu), delivering targeted ionizing radiation to CCK2R-expressing tumors. The mechanism relies on specific binding to CCK2R, facilitating either imaging or localized radiotherapy depending on the isotope used. The drug was originally developed by the Medical University of Innsbruck and is now being advanced by Evergreen Theragnostics[1][3][4][5][6][7].
