Overview
Evogliptin + metformin is a fixed-dose combination of two oral antidiabetic agents used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Evogliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases insulin secretion and decreases glucagon levels by preventing the breakdown of incretin hormones. Metformin, a biguanide, reduces hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues. The combination leverages complementary mechanisms to enhance blood sugar control in patients inadequately managed on monotherapy[1][3][6][7].
