Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Evopep-D insulin is an oral formulation of human insulin developed by Bhami's Research Laboratory using their proprietary Evopep platform. The Evopep platform is designed to enable the oral delivery of biologics, such as peptides and proteins, which are typically administered via injection due to poor gastrointestinal absorption and enzymatic degradation. In this formulation, human insulin acts as an agonist for the insulin receptor, facilitating glucose uptake and lowering blood sugar levels. Preclinical in-vivo animal studies have demonstrated the oral bioavailability and efficacy of this formulation in managing diabetes.
