Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**EVP-1001-1** is a manganese-based MRI contrast agent developed to provide rapid and specific enhancement of viable myocardium for cardiac imaging. It is designed to combine the superior kinetic and magnetic imaging properties of free manganese (Mn) with enhanced safety, offering high vascular relaxivity, rapid tissue distribution, and strong myocardial uptake. This agent has a short plasma half-life, rapid and extended myocardial retention, and minimal redistribution, making it suitable for steady-state imaging after physiologic or pharmacologic stress. EVP-1001-1 can differentiate between normal and ischemic myocardium, correlating with perfusion and mitochondrial activity, and is developed for non-invasive assessment of myocardial viability, especially in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy. The agent allows contrast administration outside the scanner, with subsequent acquisition of images reflecting the stress condition[1][3][7][8].
