EVT 501

EVT 501 is an investigational small‑molecule histamine H3 receptor antagonist discovered by Evotec and developed within its H3 antagonist program for central nervous system indications such as cognitive and sleep disorders, and excessive fatigue associated with diseases like multiple sclerosis. As an H3 receptor antagonist/inverse agonist, EVT 501 is designed to block presynaptic histamine H3 autoreceptors in the brain, thereby increasing histamine and other neurotransmitter release in key wakefulness and cognition pathways. Evotec advanced EVT 501 into preclinical development with kilogram‑scale active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing and regulatory toxicology and safety pharmacology studies, with the intention to partner the program for further clinical development.[1][3][5][9]
