EVT103

EVT103 is a **small molecule** NR2B-selective NMDA receptor antagonist developed by Evotec in collaboration with Roche for **treatment-resistant depression** (TRD) and potentially other central nervous system (CNS) disorders. It represents a next-generation compound following EVT101, designed for **oral administration** with improved tolerability over non-selective NMDA antagonists like ketamine by preferentially binding to the activated form of NMDA receptors containing the NR2B subunit, allosterically modulating channel activity in an activity-dependent manner to inhibit channel opening probability, thus separating efficacy from side effects.[1][5]
