EVT894

EVT894 is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed as a first-in-class antiviral therapeutic and prophylactic agent targeting the Chikungunya virus. It was originally discovered from a patient who had recovered from Chikungunya infection. EVT894 demonstrates potent neutralizing activity against all circulating genotypes of Chikungunya virus in both in vitro and in vivo models. The drug is designed for both treatment and immediate protection (prophylaxis) during outbreaks. Initially developed by Sanofi, EVT894 was out-licensed to Evotec. Clinical development has been conducted collaboratively by Evotec, NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases), and Duke Clinical Research Institute, with manufacturing planned at Just – Evotec Biologics.
