EVX-02 is a DNA-based personalized cancer vaccine developed by Evaxion Biotech for the adjuvant treatment of patients with advanced resectable melanoma. The therapy uses a proprietary AI platform (PIONEER) to identify patient-specific tumor neoantigens based on each individual's unique mutational profile and HLA type. These neoantigens are encoded in a plasmid DNA vector, which is administered intramuscularly as a vaccine. The goal is to induce robust and long-lasting CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell responses against the patient's tumor cells, thereby reducing the risk of recurrence after surgical resection. In clinical trials, EVX-02 has been given in combination with checkpoint inhibitors such as nivolumab (anti-PD1 therapy), showing promising safety, tolerability, immunogenicity, and early efficacy signals[3][4][5][9].
