Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Evysion (OC137) is an investigational ophthalmic formulation developed by Nanomerics for the treatment of retinal degeneration and intermediate age-related macular degeneration (iAMD). It utilizes Nanomerics' proprietary Molecular Envelope Technology (MET), a nanoparticle platform based on modified glycolchitosan, to deliver rapamycin (a small molecule mTOR inhibitor) topically via eye drops. This technology is designed to enable the drug to reach the posterior tissues of the eye, such as the retina and choroid, providing a non-invasive alternative to traditional intravitreal injections. By inhibiting the mTOR pathway, the drug aims to address the underlying mechanisms of retinal degeneration.
