EX-02 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Eximmium that targets SRRM2 (serine/arginine repetitive matrix protein 2). While SRRM2 is typically a nuclear speckle protein involved in RNA splicing, Eximmium's research identified that it is specifically exposed on the plasma membrane of various cancer cells, including ovarian and cervical cancers. EX-02 was generated using an immunization strategy involving cancer-derived extracellular vesicles and specifically binds to an extracellular epitope of SRRM2 (amino acids 1950-2100). By targeting this membrane-bound form, EX-02 enables the immune system to recognize and eliminate tumor cells while sparing normal cells where the protein remains sequestered in the nucleus. The antibody also serves as the binding domain for SRRM2-specific CAR-T cell therapies.
