Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EX-042 is a small-molecule modulator of the Transforming Growth Factor-beta (TGF-β) signaling pathway, currently in preclinical development by Excelsior Group. The drug is being investigated for two primary therapeutic applications: the promotion of wound healing and the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). By targeting TGF-β, EX-042 aims to regulate tissue repair processes and address the pathological vascular remodeling associated with PAH. It is a lead candidate within Excelsior's TGF-β Research Center, which focuses on developing inhibitors with novel mechanisms of action to treat rare diseases, fibrosis, and inflammation.
