This is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy consisting of gamma delta (γδ) T cells that have been expanded and activated ex vivo. Developed by the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital in China, the therapy is intended for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) and peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL). The cells are obtained from healthy blood-related donors via apheresis, expanded in laboratory conditions, and then infused into the patient. Unlike conventional αβ T cells, γδ T cells recognize and eliminate tumor cells in a major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-independent manner, which reduces the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) and facilitates their use as an "off-the-shelf" allogeneic product. The therapy is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial to assess its safety, tolerability, and efficacy in patients with relapsed or refractory disease.
