Overview

Ex vivo expanded peripheral blood mononuclear cells (EVE PBMNC) is an autologous cell therapy investigated for its potential to accelerate hematological recovery and prevent neutropenia in patients undergoing high-dose chemotherapy for relapsed or refractory non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The therapy involves harvesting mononuclear cells from the patient's own peripheral blood, which are then cultured and expanded ex vivo for approximately 13 days. This expansion process utilize a cocktail of cytokines and growth factors, specifically flt3 ligand, interleukin-3 (IL-3), filgrastim (G-CSF), sargramostim (GM-CSF), and epoetin alfa (EPO), to stimulate the proliferation and maturation of hematopoietic progenitor cells. Once expanded, the cells are reinfused into the patient to supplement a conventional autograft, providing a larger population of precursor cells to rapidly reconstitute white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets.
