Overview

EX14663 is a CNS-penetrant small molecule inhibitor of fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) being developed by Exxel Pharma. It is designed to treat neurological and psychiatric conditions, specifically social anxiety disorder and autism spectrum disorder. By inhibiting the FAAH enzyme, EX14663 prevents the degradation of the endocannabinoid anandamide, thereby increasing its levels in the central nervous system and enhancing endocannabinoid signaling. It is part of Exxel's ARN program and represents a newer generation of FAAH inhibitors with optimized pharmacokinetic properties for brain penetration compared to earlier candidates in the class.
