Exbivirumab is a monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of hepatitis B. Its primary mechanism of action is to target the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), thereby neutralizing the hepatitis B virus and inhibiting its ability to infect liver cells. Exbivirumab has been evaluated for the prevention of hepatitis B virus (HBV) recurrence in liver transplant recipients and is not known to be a biosimilar or generic of any existing antibody[6].
