Overview
Excipial U Hydrolotion + silver sulfadiazine is a topical combination product consisting of Excipial U Hydrolotion, a moisturizing lotion containing 2% urea, and silver sulfadiazine, an antimicrobial agent. The hydrolotion provides hydration and supports the skin barrier through the humectant action of urea, which binds moisture in the skin and soothes dryness or irritation. Silver sulfadiazine is a topical antibiotic that acts by disrupting bacterial cell membranes and walls, providing broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria as well as some yeasts. This combination may be used for wound care where both infection prevention/treatment (from burns or wounds) and intensive moisturization are required[1][3][6][8].
