Exenokine-2 is a half-life extended, non-alpha (no-α) interleukin-2 (IL-2) variant developed by Anwita Biosciences. It is engineered as a βγ-biased cytokine biologic designed to selectively activate effector T cells and natural killer (NK) cells while avoiding the activation of regulatory T cells (Tregs) and the induction of vascular leak syndrome, which are typically mediated through the IL-2 receptor α subunit (CD25). By bypassing CD25 binding, Exenokine-2 aims to enhance the therapeutic window of IL-2 therapy in oncology. The program has been licensed to Shanghai Junshi Biosciences for exclusive development and commercialization rights in the Greater China territories.
