**EXN-32** is an investigational **carbidopa + levodopa** formulation developed by **Dr. Reddy's** for idiopathic Parkinson's disease with motor fluctuations. It was evaluated in a completed Phase 2 Italian study against immediate-release Sinemet and the levodopa-only investigational formulation EXN-44. Levodopa is a dopamine precursor that crosses the blood-brain barrier and is converted to dopamine in the central nervous system, while carbidopa inhibits peripheral aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase, reducing peripheral levodopa conversion and increasing levodopa availability to the brain.
