Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ExoCoVac is an exosome-based vaccine candidate being developed by Innovex Therapeutics for the prevention of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2). The vaccine utilizes a proprietary platform that leverages circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) isolated from COVID-19 patients to present SARS-CoV-2 antigens. By utilizing these naturally occurring vesicles, the vaccine is designed to elicit a comprehensive immune response, including specific IgG antibodies and long-lived, non-exhausted effector memory T-cell responses. ExoCoVac is currently in the preclinical stage of development, with early-stage discovery work utilizing ACE2-chimeric humanized mouse models to evaluate its protective efficacy and immunogenicity.
