Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Exomega D.E.F.I is a sterile, preservative-free emollient cream developed by A-Derma (a Pierre Fabre brand) specifically for the management of atopic dermatitis and very dry skin. The "D.E.F.I" (Device for Exclusive Formula Integrity) refers to a specialized packaging system that allows the formula to remain sterile without the use of preservatives or parabens. Its primary active ingredient is Rhealba Oat plantlet extract, which possesses anti-inflammatory and soothing properties by inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory mediators. The product is designed to restore the skin barrier, reduce itching, and decrease the frequency of flare-ups in patients with atopic dermatitis, including infants and children. Clinical studies have demonstrated that twice-daily application significantly improves clinical symptoms, as evidenced by parallel changes in the SCORAD and PO-SCORAD indexes, and reduces the need for rescue topical corticosteroids.
