Exosirylic

Exosirylic is an oral film-coated tablet containing ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), a naturally occurring bile acid used for the treatment of cholesterol-related gallbladder and liver conditions. Manufactured by Gypto Pharma, it is primarily indicated for the dissolution of radiolucent, non-calcified cholesterol gallstones (not exceeding 15 mm in diameter) in patients with a functioning gallbladder. Ursodeoxycholic acid works by suppressing the hepatic synthesis and secretion of cholesterol and by inhibiting its intestinal absorption. This process leads to the desaturation of bile with cholesterol, facilitating the gradual dissolution of cholesterol gallstones. Additionally, UDCA is utilized in the management of primary biliary cholangitis and other cholestatic liver diseases due to its cytoprotective and choleretic effects.
