Exosome Complex + RNA is an investigational cell-free biologic therapy developed by Yeditepe University Hospital for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (male pattern hair loss). The therapy consists of exosomes harvested from foreskin-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs), produced under GMP conditions at the Yeditepe University Gene and Cell Therapy Excellence Center. These extracellular vesicles serve as delivery vehicles for a complex cargo of bioactive molecules, including proteins, lipids, and various RNA species such as microRNAs. Administered via intradermal scalp injection using the napage technique, the treatment aims to deliver regenerative signals directly to hair follicles. The mechanism involves the modulation of cellular signaling pathways and growth factors essential for hair follicle activation and hair cycle regulation. Clinical evaluation in a Phase 3 study has demonstrated significant increases in hair density in male patients with Norwood-Hamilton scale III-VI alopecia without significant adverse effects.
