Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Exosomes and Stem Cells program is a preclinical-stage combination regenerative therapy being developed through a collaboration between NurExone Biologic and Inteligex. This hybrid therapeutic approach is specifically designed to treat chronic spinal cord injury (SCI) by combining Inteligex's targeted human stem cell platform with NurExone's ExoTherapy exosome-based drug delivery system. The therapy utilizes stem cells to replace key neural cell types lost due to traumatic injury, while simultaneously using exosomes—produced and loaded from the same stem cell line—to deliver regenerative molecular cargo. This dual mechanism aims to provide both structural cell replacement and a supportive biochemical environment to promote neural regeneration. The program is distinct from NurExone's lead candidate, ExoPTEN, which targets acute SCI. The collaboration was announced in October 2023 and has received grant funding from the Israel-Canada bilateral Eureka program.
