ExPEC4V

**ExPEC4V** is an investigational four-valent *Escherichia coli* bioconjugate vaccine developed for prevention of invasive extraintestinal pathogenic *E. coli* disease and evaluated in populations including adults with recurrent urinary tract infection. It contains O-antigen polysaccharides from ExPEC serotypes O1A, O2, O6A, and O25B, each separately conjugated to a genetically detoxified *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* exotoxin A carrier protein. Intramuscular vaccination is intended to induce serotype-specific binding and functional opsonophagocytic antibodies against ExPEC strains expressing these O antigens. ExPEC4V is also designated JNJ-63871860 and was studied through Phase 2; it is distinct from the subsequently developed ExPEC10V and ExPEC9V formulations.
