Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ExPEC9 is a 9-valent conjugate vaccine candidate developed by Shandong Kunli Biopharmaceutical, targeting extraintestinal pathogenic Escherichia coli (ExPEC). The vaccine is designed to prevent a range of serious conditions caused by ExPEC, including urinary tract infections (UTI), sepsis, and neonatal meningitis, by inducing an immune response against nine specific E. coli serotypes. As a conjugate vaccine, it likely consists of bacterial polysaccharides chemically linked to a carrier protein to enhance its immunogenicity, particularly in vulnerable populations. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
