Drug intelligence / Profile preview
experimental denture adhesive-GlaxoSmithKline is an experimental formulation developed by GSK for use by individuals who wear full dentures. The product is designed to be applied once daily to the denture surface to enhance retention, stability, and overall functional performance. In clinical research, specifically a 12-week randomized study (NCT03444103), this adhesive was evaluated for its ability to improve gum health and enhance oral health-related quality of life (OHrQoL) by reducing mucosal irritation and preventing food ingress. Like most denture adhesives, its mechanism involves the hydration of polymers to form a viscous, adhesive layer between the prosthesis and the oral tissue, which increases surface tension and provides a mechanical seal.
