Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Exsept Plus** is a topical antimicrobial wound and skin cleanser developed by Angelini Pharma and manufactured by A.C.R.A.F. in Italy. It is an aqueous **small-molecule antiseptic solution** containing sodium hypochlorite at approximately 0.11% to 0.114% with sodium chloride 1.7% in purified water. The product is intended for topical skin antisepsis and wound cleansing, including skin site preparation before injection, instrument use, or dialysis, as well as catheter exit-site cleaning. Its antimicrobial effect is mediated by hypochlorite-driven oxidative microbicidal activity, providing broad-spectrum activity against bacteria, fungi, and viruses, including reported activity against *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Streptococcus faecalis*, *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, MRSA, and VRE. It is positioned as an iodine alternative for skin antisepsis and is described as non-cytotoxic, non-irritating, non-sensitizing, and non-allergenic.
