Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Extremecare** is a topical moisturizing cream developed for skin care in oncology patients, including prevention of capecitabine-associated hand-foot syndrome. Its formulation contains multiple moisturizing, emollient, botanical, and antioxidant components, including glycerin, hazelnut oil, calendula oil, shea butter, chamomile, oat extract, Aloe vera, vitamin E, and Thoitaine. It does not have a defined receptor-mediated pharmacologic mechanism; its intended action is to support skin-barrier hydration, reduce dryness and desquamation, and improve comfort in treatment-affected skin. Extremecare was evaluated in the Phase 2 randomized, placebo-controlled TACX Care trial in patients receiving capecitabine.
