Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EyeCell is a regenerative therapy platform developed by Leonhardt Ventures for the treatment of vision loss and various eye diseases, including wet and dry macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. The system integrates an implantable bioelectric micro-regeneration stimulator and a micro-pump to deliver a proprietary biological composition known as EC-15. This composition contains fifteen regenerative components, including stem cells, exosomes, growth factors, microRNAs, and a nutrient hydrogel. The platform utilizes bioelectric microcurrent stimulation to modulate the expression of stem cell homing factors and growth factors, specifically Stromal cell-derived factor 1 (SDF-1), Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), and Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF), to facilitate tissue repair, cellular proliferation, and differentiation within the eye.
