Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EyeGel Plus is an over-the-counter (OTC) lubricating ophthalmic gel developed by Farmigea for the relief of dry eye symptoms and the protection and hydration of the ocular surface. It is formulated as a combination of 5% dexpanthenol (a precursor of pantothenic acid/vitamin B5) and carbomer (a high-molecular-weight acrylic acid polymer). Carbomer acts as a tear substitute and thickening agent that mimics natural tear viscosity, forming a protective, lubricating film over the cornea and conjunctiva. Dexpanthenol supports corneal healing, cellular repair, and epithelial regeneration, making the gel particularly beneficial for patients with keratopathies, corneal erosions, or those recovering from ocular surgery.
